We are extremely pleased to show new work by Raheny artitst Kate Cunningham. She will be on show from March 25th at Raheny Library, Dublin 5.
Kate studied in the National College of Art and Design and has exhibited in Ireland, London and Italy. Her textile paintings breath new life into found objects and focus on the potential of idle urban rubble. Through collecting and re-imagining discarded artefacts Kate highlights the elegance in everyday, unremarkable junk.
Large shapes of medium-density fibreboard, painted in solid blocks of colour, with delicate flawed edges, abstract sculptural drawings on translucent plastic, Kate ‘s work layers silhouettes of abundance, of objects deemed functionless and unwanted.
Friday, March 25th. Visit Window to Eden @ Raheny Library.
